IRB Race Team manager required

IRB Racing is a fun, fast paced area of competition in Lifesaving that occurs after the regular season closes, in April, May and June. This year Nationals is held at Glenelg, SA Training has already started in earnest, and land based fitness sessions, swim skills and teamwork are all being developed even before the teams get in a boat to refine the driving skills. The Manly IRB Race team has been in operation for 3 years and has been run and developed by a small, passionate and dedicated set of members. This season we are looking to do the Manly sky blue cap proud, and present a few more crews at races, but ultimately bring home some silverware. The existing team have proven that with some focus and refinement they are more than capable of competing with more established and experienced teams.

 

We are now in the hunt for an IRB Team Manager to help our race team be as successful as possible this season. You will be looking to help grow a fledgling area of competition in our club, taking the small group of racers to the next level of skill and professionalism, whilst actively engaging other members of the club about the race team, and helping recruit new members. 

 

- Assist IRB Team Coach in development and execution of training plans

- Recruit members from within our club to be involved, these may be specific skills (i,e, swimmers, for a specific race)

- Organise and execute transport and logistsics for getting gear, and the team to race days

- On race day, liaise with officials, and ensure the team are in the right place at the right time

- Organise and assist with fundraising opportunities (e.g. barbecues)

- Ensure the club understands race training, and promote the team internally, raising general awareness

- Liaison with other clubs and teams for group training opportunities

- Reports to the IRB Captain
